US-based cyber insurance provider Coalition has expanded its northern UK presence by appointing a Manchester-based underwriter.
Gareth Machin has taken up the role in a move designed to provide brokers with greater support outside of London, according to Insurance Business.
The firm expanded its operations into the UK for the first-time in September 2022, and have now hired Machin to continue bolstering their UK presence. Notably, Machin brings extensive industry experience, having served in senior roles at Allianz, Chubb, WTW, RSA, and QBE. The company has not disclosed specific details regarding the recent hiring process or the financial terms involved.
Coalition focuses on cybersecurity insurance solutions, working with businesses to protect themselves against cyber risks. Their continued push into the UK signifies a commitment to extending their services beyond the US and engaging with regional brokers to cater to diverse market needs.
The move signifies a pivotal move in establishing a foothold in the UK market, promising to extend their expertise and offerings to regional brokers.

With his considerable experience and local knowledge, Gareth will be a valuable addition to our growing team.”
