Bitsight, a global leader in cyber risk management, has announced its $115m acquisition of Cybersixgill, a prominent cyber threat intelligence (CTI) provider.
This strategic move aims to deliver advanced threat intelligence by integrating Cybersixgill’s capabilities into Bitsight’s existing attack surface and third-party risk solutions. The combination will provide unparalleled visibility into external attack surfaces and supply chains, enabling security leaders to preemptively address emerging threats.
As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, organisations face challenges in applying threat intelligence to their specific environments. Bitsight and Cybersixgill’s partnership aims to simplify this process, combining Bitsight’s robust asset mapping with Cybersixgill’s real-time intelligence. Together, they will offer a unified platform that helps organisations rapidly identify, prioritise, and mitigate risks across both their own and their supply chain ecosystems.
Bitsight CEO Steve Harvey said, “The acquisition of Cybersixgill is a major step forward in our product vision, enabling us to deliver unparalleled insight into risk and threat exposure across an organization’s extended attack surface.
“With the integration of Cybersixgill’s team and technology, we can deliver even deeper insights to Bitsight customers about the targeted threats unique to their infrastructure. We’re committed to investing in Cybersixgill’s industry-leading products and will continue to drive innovation to bring even greater value to customers. Together, we’re unlocking a new level of cyber risk management, empowering organizations to stay ahead of emerging threats.”
Cybersixgill’s real-time CTI capabilities include monitoring deep and dark web forums, invite-only messaging platforms, and other covert sources to uncover potential threats. Its generative AI-powered solution, Cybersixgill IQ, transforms complex CTI data into actionable insights, enhancing security leaders’ ability to manage risks effectively.
By joining Bitsight, Cybersixgill will enhance Bitsight’s offerings in External Attack Surface Management and Continuous Third-Party Monitoring. The integration also introduces new use cases, including adversary intelligence and vulnerability tracking, while leveraging generative AI to deliver insights across Bitsight’s expansive database of cyber risk data.
Sharon Wagner, CEO of Cybersixgill, said, “”We’ve long admired Bitsight’s vision and leadership in helping organizations manage cyber exposure and understand risks in their supply chain.
“By joining forces with Bitsight, we’ll be able to enhance and expand the reach of our threat intelligence solutions and give our customers access to an even more comprehensive set of cyber risk analytics, including Bitsight’s rich vendor risk insights. With increased investment and innovation, we will continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the evolving world of cyber defense.”
