Rillet lands $25m Series A as Sequoia backs AI overhaul of ERP systems

Rillet, a FinTech company specialising in AI-native ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems for finance teams, has raised $25m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Sequoia Capital, with additional backing from First Round Capital, Creandum, Susa Ventures and notable angel investors including Ron Gill, former CFO of NetSuite, and Lee Kirkpatrick, former CFO of Twilio. The announcement comes just ten months after Rillet’s previous fundraise.

Rillet is focused on modernising ERP systems, which many mid-market companies still operate in outdated formats from the 1990s. Legacy platforms like NetSuite, the company says, are no longer fit for purpose in an AI-driven environment, being too slow, manually intensive and complex. Rillet instead delivers a rebuilt general ledger designed specifically for the AI era.

The company’s platform integrates with leading business tools including Salesforce, Stripe, Ramp, Brex and Rippling. Rillet’s AI agents then automate accounting workflows such as accruals, reconciliations, and board reporting, reducing time and human error in financial operations.

The fresh capital will be used to expand Rillet’s AI capabilities and enhance its go-to-market and customer support functions.

Since its launch in 2024, Rillet has seen revenue grow fivefold and now processes billions of dollars in transactions. The platform is already in use by nearly 200 companies, including high-growth firms like Windsurf, Decagon and Postscript.

Rillet CEO and founder Nicolas Kopp said, “We’re a team of accountants building for accountants. This means everything from the reports to the workflows is tailor-built for the challenges CFOs and controllers deal with on a daily basis.”

Sequoia partner Julien Bek commented, “ERP is one of the largest software categories, yet it has remained virtually untouched for the last decade because reimagining the financial backbone of a business is incredibly complex.

“Nicolas has brought together a world-class team to tackle this challenge, combining deep domain expertise with AI-native technology to rebuild the foundation of the CFO suite
