Global investment manager IFM Investors has unveiled the appointment of Maria Nazarova-Doyle as its Head of Sustainable Investment.

IFM Investors operates as a global investment manager, handling a diverse range of assets. With its headquarters located in London, the firm has gained significant acclaim for its prowess in managing assets across various classes like infrastructure, debt, listed equities, and private equity.

Maria Nazarova-Doyle is no novice in the investment sector. She transitions to IFM Investors from the distinguished investment, pension, and insurance firm, Scottish Widows, where she held the role of Head of Responsible Investments and Stewardship. Her illustrious career path includes a stint as the Head of DC Investment Consulting at JLT Employee Benefits.

Additionally, Nazarova-Doyle played pivotal roles at Mercer, especially after its acquisition of JLT in 2019, serving as Principal and Market Engagement Leader, DC & Individual Wealth.

Beyond her primary roles in investment firms, Nazarova-Doyle also enriched her profile by being an active board member of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) and contributing to its policy committee.

In her freshly minted role at IFM Investors, Nazarova-Doyle is entrusted with leading the Global Sustainable Investment team. Her primary responsibilities revolve around initiating and gauging sustainability endeavours across the company’s vast global portfolio. This specialised team at IFM ardently collaborates across the company’s varied asset classes, aiming to reinforce their commitment to sustainability.

IFM Investors’ Chief Strategy Officer, Luba Nikulina, remarked, “Maria joins IFM at a crucial moment in our industry’s adoption of more sustainable investing processes, as clients continue to turn their attention towards both the opportunities and challenges of issues like climate change and energy security.”

Reflecting on her new position and the evolving investment landscape, Nazarova-Doyle stated, “There is real opportunity for global investment managers to deliver returns for clients, while also embedding sustainable investment practices into their decision-making.” She further added, “Positive change is urgently required in the real economy and IFM Investors’ position as one of the leading private market investors is an unrivalled platform to help create a more sustainable future.”
