Thunes and Papara join forces to simplify cross-border transfers to and from Türkiye

Thunes, a global money transfer network headquartered in Singapore, has partnered with Papara, Türkiye’s leading FinTech firm, to enable seamless cross-border transfers.

This strategic partnership leverages Thunes’ extensive Direct Global Network and enhances Papara’s international money transfer services, providing users with a faster, more efficient way to send and receive money across borders.

This collaboration empowers Thunes’ Direct Global Network customers to send money directly to Papara accounts in real-time, fostering a quicker way to transfer money to Türkiye.

Thunes is known as the “Smart Superhighway” for moving money globally. Its proprietary Direct Global Network allows payments in real-time to over 7 billion accounts, spanning mobile wallets, bank accounts, and cards through 320 different payment methods, including GCash, M-Pesa, and WeChat Pay.

Papara, headquartered in Türkiye, has built a substantial user base with its digital financial services, which allow easy domestic and international transfers. This alliance marks a significant step for Papara, as it introduces a unique cross-border service to Türkiye for the first time, letting users receive money directly into their Papara accounts.

Simon Nelson, chief revenue officer at Thunes, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “It is an honor to welcome Papara to our proprietary Direct Global Network. Papara users in the Republic of Türkiye can send money to Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America, supporting Papara in its quest to offer compelling international money transfer services to its users.”

Aik Boon Tan, chief network officer at Thunes, added: “We are thrilled to partner with Papara to expand our Network’s reach into Türkiye. By enabling direct transfers to Papara accounts, we are removing traditional barriers and offering a more efficient service for cross-border payments into Türkiye to Members of our Direct Global Network.”
