KYCP rebrands to signal move beyond traditional KYC

Compliance technology firm KYCP has unveiled a new brand identity as it looks to move beyond its origins as a KYC-focused platform and establish itself as a broader compliance and risk-management solution.

The company, formerly known as KYC Portal, made the decision to rebrand after recognising that its previous name was limiting how the market perceived its offering. The brand was increasingly associated the brand solely with traditional KYC services. Despite KYC remaining a fundamental part of the platform, the technology had expanded well beyond its original function, and the brand was no longer an accurate reflection of what the business had become.

The rebrand centres on a new name and visual identity designed to communicate the platform’s full capabilities. The acronym KYCP has been repositioned to stand for “Know Your CounterParty”, a subtle but meaningful shift that underlines the platform’s ability to assess all types of counterparties across an organisation’s ecosystem — not merely its customers.

The new logo deliberately separates the letters KY and CP across two lines, a design choice intended to distance the brand from the traditional KYC association and highlight its wider scope.

The refreshed visual identity adopts a palette of deep teal and crystal aqua, selected to evoke trust, security, and technological sophistication. Alongside the visual changes, the company has launched a new website and domain, with the aim of enhancing user experience, improving search visibility, and making it simpler for prospective clients to understand the breadth of the platform’s functionality.

KYCP founder and CEO Kristoff Zammit Ciantar said, “When we originally launched KYCPortal, the platform was focused primarily on KYC processes. Over the years it has evolved into something far more powerful. Today, KYCP supports organisations across multiple layers of compliance, risk management, and operational intelligence.

“The new brand reflects that evolution. ‘Know Your Counterpart’ captures the real purpose of the platform, helping businesses truly understand the entities they work with and manage risk with confidence.”

Brand strategy and creative agency Growth Gurus led the rebrand process, overseeing both the strategic direction and creative execution.

Growth Gurus head of branding Chris Curmi said, “One of the key challenges was breaking the market’s automatic association with traditional KYC services. The platform has grown into a sophisticated multi-module compliance engine, and the brand needed to reflect that scale and maturity.

“The new identity positions KYCP as a modern, trusted technology partner while clearly signalling that the platform goes far beyond conventional KYC.”

The rebrand is also intended to reinforce the company’s core values of integrity, innovation, and responsiveness, which KYCP says remain central to its development as it continues to expand its platform and deepen its presence within the global compliance technology sector.

Looking ahead, KYCP says the launch marks the start of a new chapter for the business. The company is focused on strengthening global brand recognition, eliminating confusion in the market about its capabilities, and driving growth through an improved digital footprint.
