How Vivox.ai is putting AI agents to work in compliance

The global regulatory landscape is continuing to grow in complexity every year and financial institutions are trying to find the best way to cope. Vivox.ai founder and CEO Tim Khamzin, believes the answer to the issue is agentic AI.

Khamzin recently sat down with FinTech Global to explore how Vivox is leveraging the technology to help firms address the compliance gap.

He noted that many firms are experiencing a compliance gap where they cannot keep pace with the pace of change as they scale. Legacy infrastructure was not designed for the current environment and it is not possible to just keep expanding the size of the compliance team. This is where agentic AI comes in. He said, “To address this gap, companies do not need another dashboard, aggregator or orchestrator, they need our digital AI agents that can actually do the work. We believe AI agents or digital workers are the right path to address this gap.”

Vivox, which was founded in 2024, has a mission to transform compliance from a cost centre and into a scalable and trusted operating function. The company offers trusted AI agents for AML, KYB and financial crime compliance. The pre-trained AI agents can automate repetitive tasks that would typically be handled by Level 1 analysts, including AML, adverse media screening, sanctions screening and more.

Its flagship solution, Rachel, is an intelligent AI agent that can integrate with existing operations and runs 24/7 to ensure the compliance team stays ahead of risks and regulations. The technology is already used by big companies in the EU, UK, Singapore and US.

Khamzin added, “The most interesting use case is business onboarding. We see that for several types of customers we can reduce business onboarding from days to minutes and hours.”

During this interview, topics discussed ranged from:

  • How Vivox’s offering differs from others in the market
  • The biggest challenge the team has overcome in its journey
  • How its AI agents can transform compliance
  • How it fosters trust and audit readiness with its AI offering
  • The company’s growth plans over the coming years
