RMSG taps Bretton AI to scale regulator-ready compliance

Risk Management Solutions Group has struck a strategic partnership with Bretton AI to help financial institutions modernise their risk and compliance operations.

The tie-up pairs RMSG’s regulatory advisory capabilities with Bretton AI’s purpose-built automation platform, which handles functions including anti-money laundering (AML), transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence (EDD).

The aim is to close what the firms describe as a critical gap between designing compliance programmes and actually running them, with RMSG shaping regulator-ready frameworks and Bretton AI operationalising them through transparent, auditable workflows.

The partnership responds to mounting pressure on financial institutions, which face a shifting regulatory landscape where each new obligation lands on the same compliance, risk and operations teams without additional resources. Many of the programmes tasked with managing these duties were, according to the firms, constructed for a different era, even as expectations evolve and transaction volumes climb.

For practitioners, the impact is expected to show in reduced manual workloads. Analysts typically spend hours gathering information, reconciling data across systems and drafting case narratives before tackling higher-risk matters.

Institutions deploying Bretton AI’s platform have cut EDD case handling times by over 80%, while some have shortened transaction monitoring triage from more than 30 minutes to under five. Human professionals retain responsibility for policy decisions, risk assessments and final outcomes.

Defensibility sits at the heart of the arrangement. Bretton AI’s outputs are underpinned by its Trust Infrastructure, spanning model risk management controls, continuous AI evaluation and quality assurance testing, designed for institutions supervised by the OCC, FDIC and Federal Reserve.

RMSG’s professionals bring firsthand experience of enforcing those standards from their regulatory and banking careers.

RMSG advises financial institutions on complex risk and compliance challenges, offering advisory support, remediation work and programme transformation, drawing on experience from both sides of the examination process. Bretton AI delivers AI-powered back-office operations where every decision is documented, traceable and built to withstand regulatory scrutiny.

The firms argue the model offers a blueprint for advisory firms in the AI era, extending RMSG’s value beyond engagements into the daily running of compliance programmes, and positioning institutions to serve more customers and enter new markets without headcount growing in step.

RMSG managing director Jeffrey Bowling said, “At RMSG, our priority has always been helping clients build sustainable, regulator-ready risk and compliance programs. Bretton AI extends that value by enabling institutions to execute those programs more efficiently and at greater scale. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to combining deep industry expertise with innovative technology to help clients meet today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s regulatory expectations.”

Bretton AI co-founder and CEO Will Lawrence said, “The promise of agentic AI is realized when deep industry expertise meets purpose-built technology. RMSG’s team has enforced the standards our agents are designed to meet, which is exactly why this partnership is such a natural fit.”
