M-Files launches three industry-specific document solutions

Document management specialist M-Files has unveiled three new industry-specific applications: M-Files for Tax Advisory, M-Files for Quality, and M-Files for Contracts.

This marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to deliver targeted, outcome-driven software across professional services and regulated industries.

The trio of new products is built on M-Files’ AI-native, context-first architecture, which leverages an enterprise knowledge graph to connect documents with related people, projects, processes and compliance requirements. The company says the approach is designed to turn static content into actionable, connected knowledge rather than simply storing files in folders.

M-Files CEO Jay Bhatt said, “This launch reflects how we continue to evolve our platform to better serve our customers. We’re scaling M-Files into a portfolio of industry-specific solutions designed to accelerate customer outcomes. With our new Industry Solutions, we’re delivering more targeted, high-impact value to customers.”

M-Files for Tax Advisory is tailored for tax professionals handling complex engagements and regulatory documentation. The application offers structured engagement management, standardised workflows, automated document controls, and full visibility across client files, with capabilities aimed at reducing risk, boosting efficiency during peak periods, and supporting audit readiness.

M-Files for Quality targets manufacturers and businesses operating in regulated sectors. The solution covers quality documentation, audits, nonconformance tracking, corrective and preventive action workflows, and controlled change management, helping organisations maintain operational integrity while simplifying compliance obligations.

Rounding out the trio, M-Files for Contracts covers the full contract lifecycle, from initial drafting and negotiation through to approval, execution and renewal. Automated workflows and centralised visibility are central to the offering, with the aim of cutting cycle times and reducing compliance risk.

A key differentiator of the productised approach, according to M-Files, is that organisations can begin with a single application and expand their usage over time without creating information silos. The company highlights four core benefits: faster time to value through ready-to-deploy applications; outcome-focused design built around real-world use cases; increased productivity via a shared knowledge foundation; and scalable expansion without the need for re-platforming.

M-Files SVP of industry solutions Ville Somppi said, “Our customers are looking for a context-first document management system that turns content into actionable knowledge, accelerating productivity while reinforcing governance.

“These new applications mirror how tax teams, quality managers, and contract processes actually work. This productized approach establishes the foundation for a broader portfolio strategy that will continue to expand across professional services, manufacturing, and other document-intensive industries.”

The launch is already drawing endorsements from existing customers. TTI, Inc. vice president quality & compliance – Europe Heike Blodig said, “With M-Files, we’ve strengthened our digitization strategy and streamlined our central quality assurance processes—reducing processing time by 66% and virtually eliminating complaints and penalties during customs inspections because we can produce the right documents, correctly and on demand.”

M-Files, which counts more than 6,000 customers across over 100 countries, has indicated it plans to continue broadening its industry solutions portfolio, with further expansion planned into professional services, manufacturing and other sectors defined by complex documentation requirements.
