Jenius Bank, the digital banking arm of Manufacturers Bank, a state chartered commercial bank based in California and wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC Americas, a member of the global powerhouse SMBC Group, has announced the release of its very first consumer product – personal loans.

The bank has ambitions to become a full-service bank for the U.S. market and is planning further services, including a savings product and mobile app, in the near future.

The launch of personal loans by Jenius Bank is in response to the glaring need for a more personalised banking experience. Data reveals that 78% of millennials feel let down by conventional banking procedures and 81% want their bank to suggest ways to meet their financial targets.
