Ingenico links with Visa’s Cybersource for SmartPOS Solution in APAC

Ingenico has entered into a strategic alliance with Cybersource, a global payment and fraud management platform operated by Visa.

This collaboration is poised to unveil a global unified commerce solution, initially in Asia Pacific, with plans to expand into additional regions.

The inception of this new product stems from the ever-evolving demands of the global payment landscape. The partnership synergizes Ingenico’s AXIUM platform, featuring an Android application, with Cybersource’s open payment platform. This integration forges a potent commerce solution, streamlining in-store card transaction processes globally, under a unified platform.

Ingenico’s forte lies in crafting seamless payment solutions, enhancing the transaction experience across the globe. Their AXIUM platform, operating entirely on Android, offers an array of smart Point-Of-Sale (POS) terminals and a diverse suite of business applications. Ingenico’s solution, enriched by robust security measures and comprehensive customer support, is anchored on Cybersource’s platform, boasting flexibility across all AXIUM devices. This adaptability negates the need for extensive certification for each new device, fostering scalability.

The product itself is a testament to Ingenico’s commitment to advancing payment solutions. The AXIUM platform and the integrated Android application deliver a seamless, secure, and scalable solution for authorizing in-store card transactions. This innovation not only ensures robust security but also offers comprehensive customer support, addressing the multifaceted needs of merchants and consumers alike.

Further enhancing this product’s appeal is the synergy between Ingenico and Visa’s Cybersource. This collaboration aims at simplifying the technical intricacies of payment integrations, expediting market entry, and providing comprehensive omni-channel capabilities. These features resonate with the dynamic requirements of businesses and consumers in the realm of in-store commerce. The unified commerce solution, by eliminating the need for distinct platforms, allows acquirers to concentrate on card clearance and settlement, fostering expansion into new merchant segments. Moreover, the platform’s API-driven nature simplifies the integration of payment solutions into business applications for ISVs, ensuring scalability across varied geographies.

For merchants, the platform presents a cohesive solution across different markets, negating the necessity for diverse applications for each acquirer in every market. Merchants can also capitalize on Ingenico’s managed solutions, renowned for their strong regional presence and global partnerships.

Ingenico’s Chief Customer Officer, Nigel Lee, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with Visa to forge a path towards a more integrated and complete payment ecosystem. Combining the global reach of Visa and Ingenico and using the Ingenico Android technology stack, will accelerate innovation and reduce complexity. We believe together we can reduce time to market for customers and allow our clients and partners to realize the benefits of a truly unified omnichannel solution. This is a significant step in our vision to move commerce forward by harnessing the collective strengths of our combined technologies and networks.”

Dan Parsons, Head of Cybersource, Asia Pacific, also remarked on the partnership’s potential, noting, “As the world’s open payments platform, we have created a new era of partnership and collaboration that will foster a whole new wave of innovation. Our strategic partnership with Ingenico will enable us to provide pre-integrated and innovative payment solutions to our clients and partners. This will empower businesses to deliver a unified commerce experience to meet evolving consumer expectations while enabling them to scale their business more efficiently.”

This strategic partnership will further extend to Ingenico’s Tap-to-Phone technology with Cybersource integration, enabling new payment use cases. Together, they are poised to sculpt the payment experiences of tomorrow, where clients and partners can enjoy frictionless experiences with the most innovative payment solutions.
