nCino launches Mortgage MCP for AI agent integration

nCino, the platform for agentic AI banking, has introduced new functionality allowing lenders to link MCP-compatible AI agents straight into the nCino Mortgage Suite.

The update uses Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source standard that connects AI agents to external platforms, and is designed to bring AI agents into the customer’s own working environment while preserving nCino’s existing compliance and permissioning controls.

The launch, called Mortgage MCP, addresses a common source of lost time for mortgage teams: retrieving information or completing actions typically demands moving between multiple screens, even for straightforward tasks.

Mortgage MCP is intended to remove that friction, allowing an agent to carry out the task on a user’s behalf within the lender’s current governance and permission settings, without manual clicking or switching between tools.

The offering ships with two pre-built tools. The first, Admin MCP, targets mortgage systems administrators who manage a lender’s loan origination system (LOS), point-of-sale system (POS) and related technologies, and who typically spend many hours each month on user and role management, system configuration and integration upkeep.

Admin MCP allows these tasks to be completed through natural language conversation rather than logging into the nCino console, covering functions such as onboarding a loan officer, adding state licenses, assigning branches, adjusting organisational hierarchies, handling compliance tasks and reporting on loan officer performance, all within a single exchange.

The second tool, Loan Officer MCP, is built for loan officers, who often lose time switching between systems to check loan status, manage their pipeline, update borrower records and trigger income and asset verifications. This tool offers a single conversational interface for those tasks, aiming to reduce the screen-switching that slows down origination work so officers can focus more on borrower relationships.

Additional supported functions include running automated underwriting, drafting disclosures, onboarding partners, producing loan briefings, offering guidance on prioritisation and issuing task reminders.

nCino is the platform for agentic AI banking, serving more than 2,700 customers globally, including community banks, credit unions, independent mortgage banks and some of the largest financial institutions in the world. The company positions itself as providing a trusted agentic platform built specifically for financial services and regulated industries, pairing AI agents with human teams to help institutions reduce inefficiencies, improve decision-making and deliver better outcomes for their customers.

Mortgage MCP operates within nCino’s established permissioning and audit-logging system, with every action taken through the Mortgage Suite recorded alongside a timestamp, the action itself and its outcome. The framework includes configurable controls for higher-impact actions, such as archiving a loan officer or restructuring a branch, which can require human confirmation before they are carried out.

Customers retain the flexibility to tailor these controls to match their own approval processes and operating environment.

nCino general manager of global mortgage Casey Williams said, “With Mortgage MCP, administrative workflows that used to consume hours become a five-minute conversation.

“We’re building for a world where lending teams state intent and the system acts, replacing clicks with commands and dashboards with answers. Admins can connect the AI agent they already use directly into the nCino Mortgage Suite, and it only ever acts within their existing permissions, with every action logged.”
