European seed-stage venture capital firm Seedcamp has reportedly held the £78m first and final close for its fifth flagship fund.
Seedcamp V was backed by a range of investors, including fellow venture firms Index, Sequoia, Underscore VC, Northzone, Atomico and Draper Esprit, according to a report from TechCrunch.
Other limited partners to the fund are British Patient Capital, Legal & General, TIFF, LGT, Vintage IP, Isomer Capital, OMERS.
There were also a selection of angel investors contributing to the fund. These include TransferWise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus, UiPath co-founder and CEO Daniel Dines, and Unity founder David Helgason.
The firm’s fourth venture capital fund closed back in 2018 on £60m, of which, 15% was put aside to invest into FinTech companies.
Seedcamp is an active investor in the world of FinTech. Last month, it contributed to the £2m round of reinsurance technology developer Riskbook and prior to that it joined the $26m investment of small business lending startup Uncapped.
