GoCardless nets $22.5m investment from four investors

Payment solution provider GoCardless has received a $22.5m investment from investors including Accel, Balderton Capital, Notion and Passion. ?

GoCardless is an international payments network which helps companies collect direct debit payments across Bacs, SEPA and Autogiro through a single platform. The offering also helps companies to create advanced payment flows, automating re-tries, refunds and subscriptions.

The company now process $4bn wort of transactions across 30,000 organisations in Europe, supporting businesses from startups to large scale enterprises. The company is planning to launch its services into Australia and Denmark in the future, and more countries after that.

GoCardless CEO and founder Hiroki Takeuchi said, ?As more and more businesses become international, they face endless frustrations in managing payments across multiple territories. What we have engineered is a way to simply plug recurring payments into their existing systems, across the world, so they can focus on the challenges that really matter.p>

Following the deal, Andre Gilboy has joined as the company and Chief Revenue Officer and Carlos Gonzales-Cadenas as Chief Product & Technology officer.
