European private equity firm AnaCap Financial Partners has bought a majority stake in SundhedsGruppen A/S, a digital health insurance platform.
The deal, which closed on an undisclosed amount, includes the independent Danish private health insurance provider Dansk Sundhedssikring, and the healthcare network PrimaCare.
As part of the deal, the founders of SundhedsGruppen will retain their minority share in the company.
Following this acquisition, AnaCap aims to improve both technological and digital infrastructure to support enhancements in customer experience as well as drive growth in new and existing markets. Additionally, the investor is looking to grow the InsurTech’s market share internationally, across the Nordics and a wider geographical area, as well as additionally insurance market channels.
Growth will be made bother through organic expansion and bolt-on acquisitions.
SundhedsGruppen provides health insurance and claims management services to a client’s employees, with a technological infrastructure that lets it white label other providers in other insurance areas. Its solution supports accurate identification of healthcare, reporting and claims management.
The Denmark-based company provides insurance cover for around 250,000 individuals, with a client list boasting a number of Nordic blue-chip companies, it said. During the period of 2012 and 2018 the company generated a 70 per cent CAGR in premiums.
