LLMs can automate tedious and recurrent tasks, freeing up compliance officers to concentrate on more valuable activities. Such automation could streamline compliance procedures, reduce human errors, and boost overall operational efficiency.
Additionally, LLMs can aid in surveillance and monitoring activities. By scrutinising communication trends, market data, advertising, and other internal data, LLMs could assist in identifying potential cases of insider trading, market manipulation, or other fraudulent activities.
Despite the numerous advantages of AI, its integration into the compliance field is not devoid of challenges and concerns.
One significant issue is the lack of transparency. LLMs often function as black boxes, making it challenging to comprehend the rationale behind their suggestions. This opacity raises accountability concerns and potential biases in compliance decisions.
