Grey Market Labs, a growing cybersecurity firm, has successfully raised $8m in a Series A funding round.
This significant financial boost, led by Capri Ventures with contributions from Blu Ventures and AFG, marks a pivotal moment for the company renowned for its innovative Replica Platform.
The funding is earmarked to propel the adoption of Replica, a first-of-its-kind platform offering Secure Environments-as-a-Service. This unique service is designed to enhance privacy and security across the digital sphere, addressing the pressing vulnerabilities that organizations face today.
At its core, Grey Market Labs develops solutions that safeguard digital environments against a spectrum of threats. The Replica platform is particularly adept at creating realistic IT environments that are comprehensive across hardware, operating systems, applications, networks, and data layers.
This integration of patented technology, intelligence tradecraft, and a Zero Trust architecture allows organizations to conduct high-risk activities securely, such as combating misinformation, testing new technologies, and thwarting financial scams aimed at vulnerable populations.
The infusion of capital will be used to accelerate Grey Market Labs’ mission. “Replica is the culmination of over two decades of experience in embedded tradecraft and cutting-edge software development,” said Kristopher Schroeder, CEO of Grey Market Labs. He added that the funding would enable the company to “deliver even more impactful solutions for our customers.”
Notably, the investment round will also bring new expertise to the company’s board and advisory team. Andy Brown, a seasoned technology leader, and Dennis Shaya, Partner at Capri Ventures, will join the Board of Directors. The advisory board will see the addition of notable figures such as Don Duet and Tim Estes, enhancing the already robust team at Grey Market Labs.
Replica’s capabilities extend beyond cybersecurity. It supports a variety of use cases from protected research and fraud investigations to secure DevOps and intellectual property protection. This versatility, coupled with rapid deployment and compliance adherence, positions Replica as a critical tool for industries including banking, healthcare, and government.
